MOSES' COVENANT MADE OBSOLETE - THE EVIDENCE

"If, then, perfection were really through the priesthood, for with it as a feature the people were given the Law, what further need would there be for another priest to arise. For since the priesthood is being changed, THERE COMES TO BE OF NECESSITY A CHANGE ALSO OF THE LAW. For the man respecting whom these things are said has been a member of another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar."

"For says he: "See that you make all things after their pattern that was shown to you in the mountain." But now Jesus has obtained a more excellent public service, so that he is the mediator of a correspondingly better covenant, which has been legally established upon better promises."

"Hence Jesus said to them: "Most truly I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but my Father does give you the TRUE bread from heaven.”

“For if the code administering condemnation was glorious, much more does the administering of righteousness abound with glory.” - “Moreover, if the code which administers death and which was engraved in letters in stones came about in a glory, so that the sons of Israel could not gaze intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, a glory that was to be DONE AWAY WITH.”

"Certainly, then, THERE OCCURS A SETTING ASIDE OF THE PROCEEDING COMMANDMENT ON ACCOUNT OF ITS WEAKNESS AND INEFFECTIVENESS. FOR THE LAW MADE NOTHING PERFECT, but the bringing in besides of a better hope did, through which we are drawing near to God. FOR IF THE FIRST COVENANT HAD BEEN FAULTLESS, NO PLACE WOULD HAVE BEEN SOUGHT FOR THE SECOND."

"In his saying "a new covenant" HE HAS MADE THE FORMER ONE OBSOLETE AND GROWING OLD IS NEAR TO VANISHING AWAY." - "But their mental powers were dulled. For to this present day the same veil remains uplifted at the reading of the old covenant, BECAUSE IT IS DONE AWAY WITH BY MEANS OF CHRIST. In fact, down till today whenever Moses is read, a veil lies upon their hearts. But when there is a turning to God, the veil is taken away." -

”For the law code, "You must not commit adultery, You must not murder, You must not steal, You must not covet," and whatever other commandment there is, is summed up in this word, namely, "You must love your neighbor as yourself." Love does not work evil to one's neighbour; therefore love is the law's fulfillment."

 Verse Numbers… Hebrews 8:2 & John 6:32 & 2Corinthians 3:7 & 3:9 & Hebrews 7:18 + 8:13 & 2Corinthians 3.12 & Romans 13:8

Below are the passages that CLEARLY demonstrate that the laws of Moses.. that consisted of many condemnations.. were superseded by the new.. and therefore better.. teachings of Christ.. there-bye making the ancient teaching of Moses obsolete.

In fact the entire Ten Commandments can be simply summed up by the rule of treating others as we would wish to be treated ourselves..

In reality.. all those meaningless rules that have issued forth from those who hold power in the church have no value.. whatsoever.

Which rule performs better.. the ten commandments.. that consist of thou shalt nots.. or the Golden Rule of treating each other as we would wish to be treated ourselves.. ?

And.. the answer.. I believe.. should be obvious.

In fact.. Moses himself.. sums up the ten commandments thus...

"You must not take vengeance nor have a grudge against the sons of your people; and you must love your fellow as yourself." -  Leviticus 19:18

A SYMBOLIC DRAMA & THE TWO COVENANTS

INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM - VERSES - SLAVERY - (Meaning slavery to the ill-conceived ideas of men)

"But I could wish to be present with you just now and to speak in a different way, because I am perplexed over you. Tell me, You who want to be under law, Do you not hear the Law?

For example, it is written that Abraham acquired two sons, one by the servant girl and one by the free woman; but the one by the servant girl was actually born in the manner of flesh, the other by the free woman through a promise.

THESE THING STAND FOR A SYMBOLIC DRAMA; for these women mean two covenants, the one from Mount Sinai, which brings forth children for slavery, and which is Hagar. Now this Hagar means Sinai, a mountain in Arabia, and she corresponds with the Jerusalem today, for she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother. For it is written: "Be glad, you barren woman who does not give birth; break out and cry aloud, you woman who does not have childbirth pains; for the children of the desolate woman are more numerous than those of her who has the husband."

Now we, brothers, are children belonging to the promise the same as Isaac was. BUT JUST AS THE ONE BORN IN THE MANNER OF THE FLESH BEGAN PERSECUTING THE ONE BORN IN THE MANNER OF THE SPIRIT, so also now. Nevertheless, what does the Scripture say? "Drive out the servant girl and her son, for by no means shall the son of the servant girl be an heir with the son of the free woman."

Wherefore, brothers, we are children, not of a servant girl, but of the free woman. FOR SUCH FREEDOM CHRIST SET US FREE. Therefore stand fast, and do not let yourselves be confined again in a yoke of slavery." - Galatians 4:20

The Bible says that too.. so it must be true.. "Now this Hagar means Sinai, a mountain in Arabia, and she corresponds with the Jerusalem today, for she is in slavery with her children. For it is written: "Be glad, you barren woman who does not give birth; break out and cry aloud, you woman who does not have childbirth pains; for the children of the desolate woman are more numerous than those of her who has the husband." - "THESE THING STAND FOR A SYMBOLIC DRAMA; for these women mean two covenants, the one from Mount Sinai, which brings forth children for slavery, and which is Hagar." (the old testament of Moses that the New made obsolete) Nevertheless, what does the Scripture say? You will find that the names old and new testament are Christian names with which you reduce Judaism to being outdated, something they obviously strongly disagree with.

Matthew 5:18 "For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished."

Do you think Jesus brought a new law?

And what about Matthew 5:18 then?

Accelerator OCTOBER 2, 2021 Reply to Metaphysical

"Matthew 5:18 says - "For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."

But then.. also see....

"After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst."
"Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is accomplished” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit."

A HUMOROUS LETTER ABOUT THE FLAWS OF THE 10 COMMANDMENTS.. with a humorous view of why the Old Testament of Moses.. along with its God concept.. had to be made obsolete by Jesus.. in the New Testament....

Dear Dr. Laura,
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's law. I have learned a great deal from you, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can.

When someone tries to defend homosexuality, for example, I will simply remind him or her that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other laws in Leviticus and Exodus and how to best follow them.

1. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Leviticus 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. How should I deal with this?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as stated in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Leviticus 15:19-24). The problem is, how can I tell?

I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may buy slaves from the nations that are around us. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

6. A friend of mine says that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Leviticus 10:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

7. Leviticus 20:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here? I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help.

Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.
